"Devon Hymns" Jeremy Clarke
Sheep dot the hillside, cows comma the fields,
my barn a blip of brown in the breeze-blown green;
being sucked into undergrowth beside a shallow stream
Holyford Farm Cottages are situated close to the village of Colyford in East Devon. Only 3 miles from Beer (Channel 4 'Village of the Year' finalist in 2018) and 7 miles from Lyme Regis, it's the perfect base to explore the beauty of the spectacular Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
Holyford Woods has an abundance of wildlife, and offers some wonderful country walks literally on the doorstep.
The east wing of the Grade 2 listed farmhouse (Crispin Cottage) comprises the original building, a fabulous medieval hall built around the turn of the 15th century. It has a wealth of oak panelling, beams and other period features. Alternative accommodation is available in a converted Victorian coach house (The Stables and Garden Cottage).
The oldest part of the property, dating back to the late 15th century, is Crispin Cottage. Attached to the owner's home, this east wing has a wealth of oak panelling, beams and other period features. It has three bedrooms, all en suite and sleeps 6/7.
The Stables forms the major part of a converted Victorian coach house and is located opposite the farmhouse. It has a small courtyard with sitting out area and garden furniture. It has two bedrooms and sleeps 4/5.
Garden Cottage is part of a converted Victorian coach house and is located opposite the main farmhouse. With beautiful features such as exposed stone walls, you can look forward to relaxing in comfort in a cosy cottage, full of character.
